  • Quick account admin – order essentials such as cheque books and credit books, and change your business email and phone details. You can also update your personal account details if you have linked your business and personal accounts online.

  • Free security tools – including a Card-Reader designed to help prevent phishing attacks, and advanced Trusteer Rapport security software which checks that you are using the real Royal Bank of Scotland website and not a fake.

  • Drill down into the detail of your bank and personal credit card statements – and match transactions against your monthly expenses to help reconcile your account
  • Access up to seven years’ statements – we have electronic records of your statements, so you can keep track of your financial history and go paperless.
  • Search through your statements – quickly find details by transaction type, date, description or amount if you need to check your accounts quickly.
  • Download your transactions – and import them in to software such as Quicken, or an Excel spreadsheet, to speed up tax returns.

Limited companies, partnerships and other businesses

If you are a:

  • Limited company
  • Partnership
  • Club/society/association/trust
  • Limited Liability Partnership

you can sign up for digital banking if you have a Royal Bank of Scotland account and are over 16.

What you need to do

  • Fill in the online form with your business account number, sort code and postcode
  • Fill in a few personal details
  • You'll then be asked to print off the form
  • When you do so, check that it's the right form depending on the type of business you are (partnership, limited company etc)
  • Complete the rest of the form ensuring you fill in all dates and get relevant parties to sign the form - this should tie in with the mandate for your account
  • Post the form to the address listed (our processing team in Chatham)

Remember - filling in the correct information means we can process your application as quickly as possible.

What happens next?

We'll give you a customer number - keep this safe as you'll need this every time you log in. This will be sent as follows:

  • By email if we have an email address for the business (you'll receive this within 24 working hours)
  • By SMS if we have a mobile number for the business (you'll receive this withink 24 working hours)
  • By letter if we don't have a mobile number or email address (you'll receive this in 5-7 days)

24 hours later we'll send you an activation code. This will be sent as follows:

  • By SMS if we sent the customer number by email (you'll receive this within 24 working hours)
  • By post if we sent the customer number by SMS or letter (you'll receive this in 5-7 days)

When you receive your activation code you can login using your customer number and activation code, then you can choose a PIN and password that you'll use to login to online banking in the future.
